Clickable interactive map of Copenhagen Science City

Copenhagen Science City is possibly the best place in Europe to launch or scale an innovation based business. The innovation district is home to a university hospital, a university college, two university faculties, six start-up communities, 10 incubator- and accelerator programmes and no less than 450 deep-tech start-ups. This abundance of innovation eco-system actors is great for start-ups, but hard to navigate. In 2019 Copenhagen Science City published an electronic and interactive map of the eco-system. Now the map has been updated with new additions. All stakeholders, local or global, are invited to adopt the map of the innovation district. By Jes Andersen.

Easy explanation of innovation district features

The aim of the interactive map is to help explain what Copenhagen Science City contains. Like most on-line maps, it is peppered with points of interest. Unlike other interactive maps it features only what is relevant to companies and talents who are in Copenhagen Science City, or thinking about moving here.

Free for all

Copenhagen Science City invites all stakeholders to feature the new map on their local homepage. The map is free of charge and the secretariat of Copenhagen Science City will undertake continous updates such as this latest finished in November 2021.

Four themes ease the navigation

  1. Provides an overview of scientific institutions, start-up communities and commercial tenancies and of key figures such as the number of staff and students or companies at each.
  2. Visualises key support organisations for commercialisation such as makerspaces and accelerator programmes.
  3. Features transport infrastructure including Metro stations, bus-routes, bicycle super-highways and parking opportunities
  4. Outlines so-called soft qualities, such as parks, schools, housing and restaurants.

Non-partners can use it too

The map is made available free of charge. Institutions and companies do not have to be partners in Copenhagen Science City to use it. Anyone who is located in or near the innovation district, or who feels that the features of Copenhagen Science City might be interesting to clients, collaborators or visitors, are welcome to feature the map on their own website.
