Come to an inspirational talk by chemical and biomedical engineer Dr. Robert Langer of MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Langer is one of the world’s ten most cited researchers and leader of one of the most productive and profitable research facilities.
The talk; “A Quest to Solve Global Health Challenges using Biotechnology – Innovation and Science at the Intersection of Engineering and Medicine” will be followed by a Q & A session.
Learn how the Langer Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) navigates the interface of biology, medicine and materials science. With focus on developing delivery systems for drugs, engineered proteins, DNA or RNAi, work from the Langer lab targets several disease areas including cancer and diabetes.
About Dr. Robert Langer
Dr. Robert Langer’s productivity and influence across several scientific fields is vast. He is an international A-list scientist, inventor and entrepreneur and has over 1400 scientific papers and 1300 granted and pending patents.
Dr. Langer has received over 220 major awards and is considered a pioneer in many new technologies, including controlled release systems and transdermal delivery systems, which allow the administration of drugs or extraction of analytes from the body through the skin without needles or other invasive methods.
The Langer lab is the largest biomedical engineering lab in the world and maintains over $10 million in annual grants and over 100 researchers.
