Dr. Frances Arnold, Nobel Prize Winner and Linus Pauling Professor at Caltech, will visit the life science discovery, incubation and acceleration institution BioInnovation Institute at the popular event series ‘Talks at the Square’.


In a fireside chat with BioInnovation Institute’s CEO, Jens Nielsen, Dr. Arnold will talk about how excellence in science impacts innovation. They will touch upon topics like the importance of mentorship in science, how you ensure excellence, and why translation of science is important.


Dr. Arnold is a devoted scientist and entrepreneur. Apart from her Nobel Prize in Chemistry for “the directed evolution of enzymes” and her impressive academic career, she is the founder of two companies, co-inventor on over 40 patents and has functioned as a corporate advisor for a number of large companies. She is currently on the corporate board of the genomics company Illumina Inc..
